My Wireless Festival Weekend… [Video & Pics]

My first time at Wireless Fest was most definitely an awesome experience! Being someone who has a major MAJOR passion for music, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this year’s festival! A few of my favourite performances at Friday’s wireless include Tinie Tempah (when his mic was working), Labrinth (whose incredible performance actually amazed me!), Chipmunk and Wretch 32 who both blew up the stage, the wonderful Bruno Mars, & of course headliners the Black Eyed Peas who most certainly rocked the park!

I had a fantastic time at Day 1 of Wireless but Saturday’s Fest was without doubt the most exciting, where the stages were graced by the likes of J Cole, Devlin, Katy B, Chase & Status, Nero (whose DJ set was totally rammed!) and Janelle Monae (whose performance was completely unique I instantly fell in love with her talent) – just to name a few of the performers who gave me that enormous buzz and excitement! It felt like the theme for Saturday’s Wireless was more like a chilled out/laidback/party event, so I definitely loved this vibe :-).

I grabbed opportunites to film some of the acts from Saturday’s show while taking a break from madly rocking out to the tunes! So watch the video below for snippets of performances from Janelle Monae, Katy B, J Cole, and Devlin.

*Updated* Melissa Molinaro’s Big Week In The UK…with me :-)

Sadly I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties this week, but HAPPILY the reason being is that this week I’ve been tour managing an upcoming Canadian/Italian artist Melissa Molinaro, who made her on-screen debuts on Making The Band 3 and Pussycat Dolls: The Search For the Next Doll. The LA singer/dancer/actress has been in the UK this week promoting her new single Dance Floor, and her co-starring role in the new dance movie Honey 2…which is out now!

This has been a hectic, yet a wonderful week for myself and most importantly Melissa, with a crazy amount of interviews including Bang Radio, Choice FM, and BBC Radio, her trip to MRK1’s studio in Manchester to lay down some hot new tracks, and ending off her busy week with an incredibly sassy performance at Bar Music Hall last night (10th June)!

While Melissa is quite rightfully chilling out today, I’ve finally found time to resume my blogging and upload a video I recorded of her rehearsal, the official video for her latest single ‘Dance Floor’ plus the Honey 2 movie trailor – so check them out below and be sure to go see the movie! 🙂

*UPDATE*

Melissa’s latest performance was at her Single Launch Party at Whisky Mist last night (14th June) …it was a fantastic night and here’s a few snippets from the night’s photo album below…

Emerging UK TALENT! : Miss Baby Sol’s EP Launch Party at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen…

I went to a gig on Monday at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen to watch an amazing performance by an incredibly talented artist, who goes by the name of Miss Baby Sol. I had a listen to a few of her tracks beforehand that I really took to, but I hadn’t really a clue what to expect when I planned to see her perform live – now I can safely say that I honestly witnessed true star quality as the singer/songwriter totally ignited the room with her GORGEOUS image and outstanding performances. The way she owned that stage and had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand was unbelievable.

Her performance with Lazy Habits was pure excellence, plus Baby Sol also performed a gorgeous love song with John Adeleye – two brilliant performances that I thoroughly enjoyed. Although I loved listening to her tracks at home, watching her perform those same tracks live had a much stronger impact as I could tell that she meant every word that she sang – her lyrics were believable, and that’s one of the things that made her show so powerful. So as you could probably guess, I am now a fan…she has inspired me 🙂

You can check out some of the footage from Baby Sol’s launch party below! If you like, then you can buy her debut EP ‘Before I Begin (The Journey)’ by clicking here.

Films of Colour’s spectacular performance @ 93 Feet East

After receiving massive attention from the press, including being named in the Guardian as the ‘New Band of the Day’, being featured in ‘Record of the Day’ and in The Barometer in The Independent – plus a number of other radio and live/TV highlights, Films of Colour put on an exceptional show last night (1st October 2010), hosted by The Playground down at 93 Feet East in Brick Lane.

As the band featuring Andy Clutterbuck (vocals/guitar), James Hatcher (guitar), Jack Allinson (bass/synths), and James Rees (drums) were setting up, the population in the room rapidly increased, all eagerly awaiting the band to perform their brilliant and epic-sounding numbers. There was an electric vibe in the room as the Guildford 4-piece put on an incredible performance; they greatly connected with the crowd to the point that they had them singing along to their new single ‘Actions’ (which you can watch a video of below). Their performance of this track was total quality and extremely engaging – their delivery was impressive and you could easily get lost in the sounds of the melodious synths, whipping guitars and the vigorous attack of the drums, including the heartfelt lyrics which all complement the sensitive and emotionally prominent vocals.

Films of Colour are truly magnificent live and have huge potential to go a very long way in their music career. The band releases their single ‘Actions’ digitally on the 4th October (11TH October 7’’ vinyl) via Label Fandango Records. Although they are often compared with the likes of Delphic and Coldplay, I believe they are the next big thing to enter the indie music scene and mark their own individual stamp on it.

Films of Colour – ‘Actions’

Their upcoming shows include: The Vaults, Derby on October 7, Gatecrasher, Nottingham on October 8, Catch Bar, Shoreditch on October 12, and Moho In The City, Manchester on October 13.
