Following his previous single ‘Beat Of My Heart‘, Rickstar, a 21 year old singer/songwriter from London drops another smashing number entitled ‘Hanging On (Let Go)’, taken from his terrific EP ‘Vintage Soul, Modern Mind’. The track itself adopts the nature of the 60s, modernised to create a funky fresh sound. The combination of the famous Motown flavour with a modern touch forms this brilliantly easygoing song, with addictive vocals and an infectious melody – a track you are bound to catch yourself subconsciously humming down the street!
The accompanied captivating music video is equally epic; the visual is quirky yet slick and stylish, and Rickstar is undeniably an entertaining trendsetter – he is most certainly able to keep us hanging on to his every word with a hit as gripping as this!

Will Smith did it, twice even, and now Snoop Dogg wishes to create a star out of his girl as he offers up his 12-year-old daughter Cori B to the music biz, (assumedly to make enough dosh and secure him a profitable retirement…maybe?) I guess this could also be viewed as a bit of healthy competition for young Willow!
Cori B releases her new single entitled ‘SMH’ (abbreviation for ‘Shaking My Head’ in case you ain’t ‘down’ with the internet slang), and I want to be nice, seeing as she is only 12, but truthfully, this track is just no good. I’ve tried to enjoy it for the sake of her young attempt, but the song is merely suited for HER OWN age. Plus the novelty of cute young singers has worn off since the arrival of Willow Smith and Jawan Harris, and I just don’t see a future in this latest addition – but I guess being a child of The Dogg…anything can happen!
So we’ve had ‘OMG’, ‘LOL’, and now ‘SMH’. What’s next? ‘WTH’?‘LMAO’? ‘BRB’? Check out the new single below while I’m off to write a track called ‘KMT’.
Following on from Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ single ‘Cheers (Drink To That), the singer continues to drop those dance numbers with the revealing of her latest track ‘We Found Love’.
Any artist collaborating with Scottish producer/DJ Calvin Harris is bound to be epic, given that he is no stranger to a hit and knows exactly how to get a party crowd rocking; plus, along with Rihanna’s vocal contribution, this one is sure to be a smasher.
This piece here that Ri-Ri and Harris has created is a track that I instantly found love in and is definitely one to blast on bass-pounding sound systems, and through the loudest speakers!
Listen to the electro-house number below and discover love…in that hopeless place…
Now every time soulful singer Robin Thicke comes to mind, the most obvious track that I begin to hum is his classic tune ‘Lost Without You’ …well this new single entitled ‘I’m an Animal’ is a total contrast to his earlier hit, as in this monstrous number he unleashes his inner beast with his fiery vocals as he sings “Put a gate around my heart, don’t you let me out the yard, I’m an animal baby”. Well I certainly unleashed my inner groove during my first listen of this one!
I predict that it’s not likely to be a major hit, but I am personally pleased he’s been let out of the yard to create this number, and I am also keen to hear what the rest of his forthcoming fifth album has in store!
Hear Robin Thicke confess his animal-like nature on his new song below…
Jessie J adopts the electro-pop sound for her 2nd US single entitled ‘Domino’. The funky single is not exactly her usual type of material, but with a gorgeous rippling voice like hers she can more or less try anything and make it sound GOOD. The track is far from original, yet it still has massive potential of becoming her next big hit in the US with the single boasting an infectious guitar riff, melodious vocals and a compelling hook.
After hearing that Jessie J will be performing ‘Domino’ live on Katy Perry’s ‘California Dreams’ tour, I later noticed how the ‘Firework’ singer’s style of music could have been influential during the song’s production stage; and to add to this, J’s single was produced by Dr. Luke who also produced Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’ and ‘Hot ‘n’ Cold’…so you can unsurprisingly recognise the comparisons!
So will the new track be a winning single or will it fall like dominoes? Dirty dance in the moonlight while the song plays below! 🙂 …
Tyrese slides back into the music scene with a confidence boost with his new single ‘Too Easy’, which features his ‘Fast Five’ co-star Ludacris who proves to be a perfect contribution to this head-bopping track. I’m not that surprised that the singer joined the auto-tune craze as it seems to be the norm these days, but for me it doesn’t take the focus away from his bassy vocals and extra smooth lyrics. The ‘Sweet Lady’ singer emphasises how his style comes easy to him and sings about having that natural swag…well let’s hope that Ty finds it just as easy to make this track a mega hit ay!
Take a listen to the new single below which is taken from his upcoming album ‘Open Invitation’, released November 1st!
Leona Lewis’s new single entitled ‘Collide’ taken from her upcoming third album, has recently surfaced online, and I must say it was quite a turn-up for the books – for an artist who is known to usually be quite a ‘still’ performer, this new single is rather…well…up-tempo. The singer seems to have noticed the common trend of electro-dance storming the charts these days and decided to adopt the sound for this single release, although…[Opinion after first listen]…I strongly feel that her voice was far better suited to her original sound. I adore her angelic voice over pop ballads that fully compliment her clear, melodic vocals; it’s the main sound that she adopted since winning The X Factor so this dance vibe is a major contrast and may just take some getting used to…
…[And opinion after second listen]…hmmm I think this addictive number may have just grown on me!
I feel that the song just shows how versatile she can be as an artist, as her voice is clearly equally as powerful as the track itself. It could be said that her gentle personality doesn’t really match this floor-filler style of music, however I am quite hopeful that there’s a strong chance we may finally witness her inner groove – well she couldn’t exactly perform this one in a stand still now – could she?…
David Guetta teams up with rappers Flo Rida and Nicki Minaj for his latest dance anthem ‘Where Them Girs At’; the first single taken from his forthcoming album ‘Nothing But The Beat’. I know this kind of tune is more Flo Rida’s style, but I weren’t too sure about Nicki; however after watching the video and listening to the track like a hundred times it has somehow changed my opinion, and now I believe that it does all sorta work 🙂
The French DJ proves that he can even make a whole city get down to his infectious dance number, with giant bubbles filled with rhythmic gas floating among the people of LA, causing them to burst out in dance – yep the creativity in the video is clearly suitable for an equally bubbly tune 🙂 I must admit this song isn’t one of my favourites from the producer, but whatever the track I believe that he will forever keep his listeners on their feet!

Out to all the 20-somethings…30-somethings…40-somethings…pretty-somethings…sexy-somethings… aaaand bitter-somethings……here’s Beyonce to teach you all a lil’ SOMETHING on her newly-surfaced track ‘Schoolin’ Life’…so listen up! as she takes us way back to her frisky 80s days…
Taken from the deluxe edition of her album ‘4’, ‘Schoolin Life’ is fun, funky, and is a positive shout out to all generations; it’s great to see B back in action like she’s never been away from the spotlight! Written and Produced by The-Dream, the single is very much vocally suited to the spirited voice of the singer. Listen below as Beyonce teaches life’s lessons in the 80s-inspired number…
So Cher Lloyd has named her debut single… ‘Swagger…….Jagger’?
It’s a shame that her new song has been slated since it was leaked online, but I guess she is asking for major criticism with an inane title like that! We can’t deny that the song’s context was so expected of the singer – it’s hardly surprising for her to come out with a swag-related number considering she won over the X Factor audience with her rendition of Keri Hilson’s ‘Turn My Swag On’, at her audition in 2010.
I do find the nursery-rhyme-ish chorus extremely cringy; it really does sound like a hook made up by a bunch of school kids in the playground, yet it is very infectious! – which does actually make for a great hit these days. The song’s a grower and I do think it has potential for chart success, yet I will still never…EVER accept that dumb title…Swagger Jagger!??
