…well it is nice to see that this young girl is still being taken seriously with this ingenious music video for her new single ‘21st Century Girl’.
Willow Smith creates her own 21st century setting – similar to her previous video for ‘Whip My Hair’ it involves the singer bringing life, colour, fun and excitement to the scene. Willow has that ability to show attitude and fierceness, while still managing to stay adorable and show that she is still a 10 year old girl who wishes to continue to enjoy her childhood and have fun!
The youngster’s sparkling charisma is so endearing in this video, as she entertains us with her fantastic fiery energy. Her outfits are very ‘out there’ but she knows exactly how to work with it and make it look stylish and fashionable. She is so intriguing to watch – a smashing lil’ entertainer – and she has totally proved that she has truly earned her place in this ‘21st century’ music scene 🙂
I remember when I first heard this tune on the radio, and I’ve been awaiting the music video ever since…don’t really know what I was expecting, but I definitely didn’t expect to be this mesmerised!
This impressive video starring the adorable Willow Smith is busting with originality, energy and fun – it’s entertaining, appropriately colourful and bright – just perfect for her age. She also has her own unique image while making fashion statements throughout, like her hair (especially the heart-shape style and candyfloss hair-do), the clothes, the makeup, the NAILS! She definitely proves to be a hot young chick with attitude, but still is able to maintain her cuteness.
You can tell the director, Ray Kay, was full of a number of exciting ideas; especially the creative one of dipping her hair in coloured paint and whipping her hair, splashing some colour in the plain white and dead-out room. I love the way she literally brings the classroom to light and life, exactly what this track would do to any room. The whole theme of the video is totally compatible with the track itself, and lil’ Willow is definitely an inspiration to all the lil’ kids her age. You’ll all be whipping your hair (if you have any) by the end of this video…trust!
Anyone without hair is feeling a little left out right now am I right!?
I’m not really gonna write a review… I just needed to feature these artists purely because it’s shocking how talented these kiddos are! Firstly, Jawan Harris who is only 12 years old, has mad talent in my opinion. Initially I wanted to write something about his song ‘Nobody’ which actually shows off his incredible voice much more (check it out if you ain’t heard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8rIQXKTeOU&feature=related) , but then I came across the track ‘Another Planet’ featuring Chris Brown of whom I’m a massive supporter of, and thought damn I am TOTALLY feeling this tune it’s on fyah! So decided to feature this one instead 😀 I’m definitely liking the diversion from the standard R’n’B and hearing them rap is quite refreshing. I predict this track’s gonna blow up and everyone be saying “I Be Up In Mars, I Be Up In Mars, I Be So Fly, I-i-i Can Touch The Stars, I Be Up In Mars, I Be Up In Mars, When You See That SpaceShip, Yup Thats My Car” …you singing it yet? You WILL be once you’ve heard it for sure!
I’m guessing Chris Breezy took this little man under his wing awww how sweet. This boy’s gonna go far; I can see a bright, exciting, and money-making future ahead of him 🙂 …
As for Willow Smith (daughter of Will and Jada Smith if you didn’t know), I actually can not come to terms with the fact that this raw-talented young girl is only 9 years old. I can’t help but think her new song ‘Whip My Hair’ seems way too old for her – like I can hear someone like Keri Hilson dropping this track for her next single with Nicki Minaj on the hook. Or maybe you could think of another line-up? But lets face it the girl has a gift that not many girls her age have. Looking beyond the age thing, I most definitely think that this is one fiery track that will tear the roofs off houses, sheds, cars, and whatever else! Be ready to be amazed 🙂 …
